“Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice!” (Phil 4:4) 

Dear All Saints Parish Family,  

Just three weeks ago, we rejoiced in the Lord with the celebration of Corpus Christi, a wonderful feast in which Our Lord Jesus Christ made Himself present in the streets of our neighborhood through the Eucharistic procession. How much faith and love were present that day! Last weekend, we our community rejoiced together again with the Taste of Nations Festival.  Despite being our first annual event- and the rain in the first half of the day- we all agree that this event was a HUGE SUCCESS!  

The “Taste of the Nations” was a manifestation of love for God for our All Saints Parish family. We had the opportunity to extend our love and joy to all who visited us, and we received SO MANY comments about how people were amazed at the joy and presence of the Holy Spirit in our parish community.  

How can we not rejoice? We are a parish community that works together, that enjoys music and food, and that is a source of light and hope for our neighbors. We are happy because all those who worked to make the Taste of the Nations event possible worked tirelessly despite the rain.  

Our brother Anthony Raia also had a chance to share a moving  testimony about the power of prayer that exists in our community. 3 months ago, Tony was wheelchair bond with a stroke. Saturday night, he was leading the dancing with everyone thanking God! The ending of the event was a spectacular moment with the Parade of Flags, spiritual music, and the closing prayer. It was a truly wonderful moment for the Catholic Church in Haverhill. 

Full of this joy, we want to express our deepest gratitude to all those who made the Taste of the Nations possible. First of all, we thank all the members of the Taste of the Nations committee with our sister Mary Cockroft at the head, and our sisters Mary Ellen O’Shea, and María García as the vice chairs. We are especially grateful to all the different committees that represented their countries or heritages: United States, Canada, Ireland, Philippines, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Lebanon, Poland, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, Guatemala, Ecuador, Colombia, Costa Rica, Sweden, Puerto Rico, and the Sons of Italy who also delighted us with their band at the beginning of the event. We also thank the volunteers who helped with the Dunk Tank, and all the brothers and sisters who were in charge of the music/entertainment: Julio Brizuela our DJ, Rafael Flores, the Ministry of Tropical Salvadorian Music and the Ministry of the Queliz Brothers.  Finally, we also thank all those who were present before and after the event to help set up & clean up everything, leaving the parking lot as if nothing had happened there. 

We express our deepest gratitude to all of you who have made this great event possible. All of you are the reason for our joy, and we pray the Lord that the joy of Christ is always present in your hearts! We look forward to next year for our 2nd Annual Taste of the Nations event!

Querida familia parroquial de Todos los Santos 

Hace tan solo tres semanas, nos alegramos en el Señor con la celebración de Corpus Christi, una increíble fiesta en la que Nuestro Señor Jesucristo se hizo presente en las calles de nuestra comunidad por medio de la procesión eucarística. ¡Cuánta fe y amor se hicieron presentes ese día! El fin de semana pasado, nosotros, nuestra comunidad nos alegramos juntos nuevamente con el Festival El Sabor de las Naciones. A pesar de ser nuestro primer evento anual – y de la lluvia en la primera parte del día – todos estamos de acuerdo que este evento fue un ¡GRAN ÉXITO!  

El “Sabor de las Naciones” fue una manifestación de amor a Dios para nuestra familia Parroquial de Todos los Santos. Tuvimos la oportunidad de extender nuestro amor y alegría a todos los que nos visitaron, y recibimos MUCHOS comentarios sobre cómo la gente estaba asombrada por la alegría y la presencia del Espíritu Santo en nuestra comunidad parroquial. 

¿Cómo no regocijarnos? Somos una comunidad parroquial que trabaja unida, que disfruta de la música y la comida, y que es fuente de luz y esperanza para nuestros vecinos. Estamos felices porque todos los que trabajaron para hacer posible el evento el Sabor de las Naciones, trabajaron incansablemente a pesar de la lluvia. Nuestro hermano Anthony Raia también tuvo la oportunidad de compartir un testimonio conmovedor sobre el poder de la oración que existe en nuestra comunidad. Hace 3 meses, Tony estaba en silla de ruedas con un derrame cerebral. ¡El sábado por la noche, él dirigió el baile con todos agradeciendo a Dios! El cierre del evento fue un momento espectacular con el Desfile de Banderas, música espiritual y la oración de clausura. Fue un momento verdaderamente maravilloso para la Iglesia Católica en Haverhill. 

Llenos de esta alegría, queremos expresar nuestro más profundo agradecimiento a todos aquellos que hicieron posible el Sabor de las Naciones. En primer lugar, agradecemos a todos los miembros del comité el Sabor de las Naciones con nuestra hermana Mary Cockroft a la cabeza, y nuestras hermanas Mary Ellen O'Shea y María García como vicepresidentas. Estamos especialmente agradecidos con todos los diferentes comités que representaron a sus países o herencias: Estados Unidos, Canadá, Irlanda, Filipinas, El Salvador,  Brasil, Polonia, Mexico, República Dominicana, Líbano, Italia, Guatemala, Ecuador, Colombia, Costa Rica, Suecia, Puerto Rico y los Hijos de Italia que también nos deleitaron con su banda al inicio del evento. También agradecemos a los voluntarios que ayudaron con el Dunk Tank, ya todos los hermanos y hermanas que tuvieron un cargo de la música/entretenimiento: Julio Brizuela nuestro DJ, Rafael Flores, el Ministerio de Música Tropical Salvadoreña y el Ministerio de los Hermanos Queliz. Finalmente, agradecemos también a todos los que estuvieron presentes antes y después del evento para ayudar a arreglar y limpiar todo, dejando el estacionamiento como si nada hubiera pasado.  

Expresamos nuestro más profundo agradecimiento a todos los que han hecho posible este gran evento. ¡Todos ustedes son el motivo de nuestra alegría, y rogamos al Señor que la alegría de Cristo esté siempre presente en sus corazones! ¡Esperamos con ansias el próximo año para nuestro segundo evento anual el Sabor de las Naciones!
